bullet Barbra Elizabeth PREPER was born in 1752 in Nova Scotia. Both John and Christopher, possibly brothers, were bakers from Canning, England who came to Canada with Cornwallis in 1749. She was baptized on 1 Sep 1753 in St John's, Lunenburg. She died on 15 Nov 1827 in The Hickory Grove, Earnestown, Kingston, Ontario. Following the death of her husband, Elizabeth had gone there to live with her married daughter, Dorothy Krein .

Elizabeth's parents in one genealogy are said to be Ernest Jacob Tobias Prieper (which sounds German) and Wilhemina. Ernest is said to have come from Canning in 1749 with Cornwallis. However, in the ship's passenger list which I viewed online there is only a John Jacob and a Christopher Preper, both bakers, from Canning, England who came in 1749 with Cornwallis.

bullet Daniel R. PRIDHAM was born on 16 Oct 1858 in Prince Edward Island. He was an artistic photographer in Railway Crossing, Amherst, NS. The fact that Daniel was an artistic photographer was found when I typed in PRIDHAM in a site search at the chignecto website. A man was letting others know he had an old photo album and would be happy to send people copies of the photos if it turned out they were family members. The name D.R. Pridham was on the back of some of the photos, which were of Griffin and Harrison family members. Interestingly there was a Lena May Harrison, as he named one of his daughters Lena, She was born @Nov 1876 and died Feb 5, 1879.

At times the address on some of the photos changes to Music Hall Block, Amherst, NS and then to Pridham Bros., Amherst, NS and Pridham Bros .Photographers, American Studio, Amherst, NS.

Daniel's brother was Reuben Pridham, who married Elizabeth M. Hacker 18 Oct 1892 in Amherst at the age of 42. She was 40. Reuben and a Mary had a son, William D., born in Amherst in 1881. He married Ruby Ripley in Amherst 26 Jul 1909, at which time he says his residence is Lynn, Massachusetts. They also had a daughter Beatrice T. Pridham, b1885 and who married Harold Fisher Parks, a resident of New Brunswick, in Cumberland on 25 Oct 1907.

There is still the Pridham Studio, who took a picture of the Cumberland County Academy, Amherst, HS, in 1928.

The partial list of passengers who came from England with Cornwallis in 1749 had listed a John Jacob and a Christopher Preper, bakers, from Canning, England.
